Safety lights for rowing boats and canoes: Stay visible in the dark

Rowing and canoeing in the dark can be a wonderful experience, but safety is always paramount. Follow these tips to make sure you stay safe during your nighttime adventure on the water.

    • The most important tip is to use proper lighting. A white top light is mandatory for all boats on the water, but an exception is made for rowing boats and canoes. However, it is advisable to use a top light to increase your visibility.
    • In addition to a top light, it is also important to carry personal lighting. A headlamp or reflective vest is a good way to ensure that other vessels can see you.
    • There are a number of other safety measures you can take to make your adventure in the dark safe. For example, it is important to row or kayak in a group, know your surroundings and wear a lifejacket.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your nighttime adventure on the water is a safe and enjoyable experience.
